Students in Action - Appropriated Art

Stealing Art! - The Art of Appropriation

Students were inspired by artists who appropriate other artwork into their own concepts and expression. They studied people like Picasso, Warhol, Kehinde Wiley, Cindy Sherman, Banksy, Shepard Fairey.

Each student chose images of art to print from famous artworks and used these to make gel and tape transfers.

These transfers have been altered and incorporated into multi-media works that the students created. The idea was to ENVISION how the "stolen" artist's work could be unified with their own style and ideas.

Here are the Guerrilla Students in Action of EXPLORATION AND CREATION.
